Marty Walker came to real estate after over a decade of university music teaching and not-for-profit arts administration. His real estate career began in the mid-nineties when he joined a national investment real estate firm to help build their hospitality and lodging division. Several years later, Marty accepted a position with a British music software company to open their first U.S. office in Los Angeles and to prepare for their first wide-spread release in North America.
Marty returned to real estate in early 2002, but this time as a residential specialist, his true passion. Since then, he has been successfully representing people in the sale and purchase of their homes in greater-Los Angeles. As the stream of enthusiastic testimonials from them supports, his unwavering focus is to provide for his clients the highest possible level of caring, personal service and results.
Marty is also an internationally-known clarinetist who is recognized for his critically-acclaimed recordings and premieres of new music. He strongly believes in giving back to his community, so he is a member of the Los Angeles-based Robin Cox Ensemble(www.robincoxensemble.com), a group dedicated to performing the music of living, local composers. Marty feels strongly about the importance of the arts in public education, as well. To this end, he has served as a consultant for the Los Angeles Philharmonic SchoolPartners Program.
A Los Angeles native, Marty holds a Bachelor and Master of Music from the University of Redlands and a Master of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts. He has also studied in Austria at the Vienna Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
